Harosot is a traditional dish as part of the Seder Seder night, intended to symbolize the taste of redemption and freedom of the Israelites from Egypt. It mainly contains apples, lemon juice, carrots and walnuts, and is considered a delicious and healthy food. To make a haroust, you will need to obtain the following ingredients: Ingredients:

  • 2-3 apples
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
  • 1 cup ground walnuts
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons of lukewarm water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the apples and carrots into small cubes and put it in a food processor.
  2. Add the lemon juice, walnuts and sugar to the mixture.
  3. Feed the mixture in the food processor until you get a smooth batter.
  4. If the mixture is too dry, add a little lukewarm water to achieve a desired texture.
  5. If you wish, add cinnamon to the mixture and mix well.
  6. Taste and adjust the content to your taste by adding lemon juice, sugar or more walnuts according to the recipe
